Is my payment information secure?
Yes. Our website is powered by Big Cartel and payment processing hosted by Stripe and PayPal, professional third-party vendors. We at John Nicholas do not see, collect or share your financial information.

Do you collect sales tax?
Yes. We are required by law in Pennsylvania to collect 7% sales tax on all taxable goods.

Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free shipping to the continental United States on most items in our catalog. When free shipping is not available, usually due to item size or weight, it will be clearly marked on the product page. Store pickup and white-glove delivery is available as well. Please contact us prior to making your purchase to discuss.

Where do you ship?
We ship to the continental United States using the carrier (United States Postal Service, UPS, etc) best suited to handle your particular package. *International buyers, including residents of Alaska and Hawaii, should contact us for an updated shipping quote prior to purchase.

Will I receive a tracking number for my package?
Yes. You will receive email updates on the status of your order, including shipping confirmation with tracking number. Unless otherwise specified, we fulfill and ship orders within 1-2 business days of purchase.

Some objects are marked for "local pickup or delivery only". What gives?
Some items are just too big or fragile to ship in a safe, efficient or cost-effective manner. In these cases, Pittsburgh-area customers may choose to either pick up their order from our West Homestead workshop, or, for a reasonable fee, utilize our white-glove delivery service. Please contact us to arrange pickup or delivery service when placing your order. 

Can you install/hang/help me display my object?  
Yes! For a reasonable fee we can professionally install and display your object in nearly any location in your home, office or business. From hanging a heavy sign at the tippy top of your wall to professionally mounting and lighting a piece of art, we have the tools and know-how. Please contact us for more information. 

What is your return policy?
We want you to be happy with your investment. While the objects in our online shop are carefully curated, cleaned, measured, photographed and presented in an honest manner, we understand that sometimes the item just doesn't work within the context you had in mind. As a result, we will issue a store credit for items returned in the same, unbroken and unaltered condition in which they were sold. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving your item to initiate a return. You will be responsible for return shipping costs. 

What if my object was damaged or lost in the mail?
On the rare occasion your object doesn't arrive, or arrives damaged, the best thing to do is contact us immediately. Please be prepared to provide clear photographs of both the packaging and item so we can initiate an insurance claim with the carrier on your behalf. Unfortunately, we cannot be responsible for misplaced or stolen packages shown to have been delivered by the carrier. Should this occur, we advise you to inquire with neighbors or the local delivery person, or with law enforcement if theft is suspected.
